A little about Katie and her swimming background:

Katie has been swimming competitively since she was 8 years old, first on the club team, Riptide. While on this team she trained to compete in triathlons. Katie went to USAT Nationals and placed 2nd in the nation. She swam and trained for triathlons there until she was about 12 when she decided to focus only on swimming. Katie then switched to North Jeffco Swim Team, once she started high school she swam for the Wheat Ridge High School swim and dive team. She went to high school state for three out of the four years she was at Wheat Ridge HS. During her junior year she placed first in the 100 breaststroke and second in the 200 individual medley. While swimming both for the high school and North Jeffco, she was recruited by New Mexico State University. She is finishing up her sophomore year and still swimming for head coach Rick Pratt and assistant coach Liz Schoborg.

We look forward to Katie’s leadership and expertise in guiding our team.

The 2012 Winter Clinic will begin Friday January 27 at Meyers Pool with 8 and under swimmers in the water at 6PM and the 9 and up swimmers starting at 7PM.  If you have not already registered – no worries! Bring your complete registration and release to the pool on Friday and we will get you started.

Meet in the sheltered area near the big wave pool

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

1. The group discount is $24.25 for each all-day admission ticket  ($36 AT THE DOOR
2. Please sign up during practice by JULY 8, 2011.  Fill out the sign up sheet and include your payment in the envelope.
3. CHECKS ONLY, made payable to FPP.
4. Tickets will be available, in swimmers’ files, during practices on Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12.
5. Water World allows coolers with food and factory sealed beverages.  No glass bottles.

Please sign up for one or more of our 2011 summer season committees being formed now to begin planning and executing much of the “behind the scenes” work necessary for a successful summer season.  Click Five Parks Piranhas 2011 Summer Season Volunteer Committees Sign Up to sign up.  You will need to enter a password that will be sent to you via team email.   Please archive that email for future reference as the password will be valid the entire season for all sign ups using SignUp Genius.

For each committee there is a Swim Team Parent Board Member identified as the point of contact person for the committee (this person is not the committee chairperson but rather the liaison between the committee and the swim team parent board).  Please in addition to signing up via SignUp Genius, also contact the applicable board member POC to further discuss the committee’s roles and responsibilities.  Serving on a committee is a great way to meet your parent participation requirements.  Thanks in advance for your volunteer efforts.
